About

Hi, I’m Troy Salisbury.

I never set out to become a marathon runner, a speaker, or someone others might look to for strength—but life has a way of shaping us through storms we never expected.

One of the most unforgettable moments in my journey happened on the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, just before the start of the 2018 New York City Marathon. Standing shoulder to shoulder with tens of thousands of runners, helicopters buzzing overhead and the city skyline in the distance, I felt both small and unstoppable. It was surreal—and a far cry from where I began.

Just four years earlier, at the age of 40, I ran my first race: the Cooper River Bridge Run on April 5, 2014. My wife, Jennifer, and I signed up with my parents and brother as a family outing. I didn’t expect it to become a turning point. But it did. Running evolved into a way to cope, to breathe, to recover from life’s chaos—whether it was health scares, emotional lows, or personal setbacks.

Each mile taught me something deeper: that progress isn’t always fast or flashy. Sometimes it’s simply putting one foot in front of the other when everything feels heavy.

Now, I’m sharing my story—not because it’s extraordinary, but because it’s real. I believe everyone has the strength to endure, grow, and rise again—sometimes, we just need to be reminded. Whether you’re here to collaborate, connect, or simply draw a little encouragement, I hope my journey inspires you to keep going. I hope it encourages you to run through the storm!

Thanks for being here.
